Summary of Responsibilities:
Under remote supervision, inspects parts, products and/or processes to ensure conformance with engineering requirements and standards. Confers with Hesston personnel, management, and vendor representatives to assist in the resolution of defective parts or products. Works with Operations, Engineering, and other personnel in getting corrective and preventive actions implemented. Evaluates finished goods prior to shipment and performs limited product rework as authorized by Quality management.

Essential Duties:
  • Inspect purchased parts and assemblies and performs first article inspections as required. (Approx. 75%)
  • Validates part count / cycle counts inventory. (Approx. 5%)
  • Audits completed mowers by using established quality processes. (Approx. 5%)
  • Assists with minor finished good configuration corrections. (Approx. 5%)
  • Rejects and quarantines defective product and notifies RTS Quality personnel and coordinates return of product to supplier. (Approx. 5%)
  • Coordinates with organizational leadership to audit and improve processes and implement corrective actions as required. (Approx. 5%)
NOTE: These duties are subject to change as business needs and strategies evolve. Employee may be required to perform other duties of comparable complexity.

Education:
  • High School / GED diploma required
  • Associate degree / Technical program preferred
  • ASQ Quality Inspector certification preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience.
  • Experience with Excel Industries purchased parts and finished goods preferred
  • Experience with Inspection Xpert preferred
  • Experience with 3D CAD/CAM/CAE solutions preferred
Required Skills:
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software solutions)
  • Proficient blueprint reading skills
  • Ability to accurately measure geometric dimensioning and tolerancing requirements
  • Ability to accurately utilize various inspection tools
  • Safe operation of forklift and ability to maintain a forklift license
