QUALITY ENGINEER - PPAP COORDINATOR

DETROIT, MI - DETROIT CONNER STREET PLANT


As a member of the Quality team, the Quality Engineer – PPAP Coordinator will be responsible for Supplier PPAP approvals and Customer PPAP submissions.


The Role:

  • Your work will include, but not be limited to:
  • Supplier PPAP approvals and maintain required supporting documentation, in profile
  • Customer PPAP submissions and maintain required supporting documentation, SQMS
  • Attend PPAP conference calls and provide plant updates as required
  • Maintain Supplier PPAP Bump Chart matrix
  • Assist with PTR coordination and assist in preparing proper documentation
  • Attend product audit reviews
  • Support in capability and Gage R&R studies with quality engineer
  • Maintain SQMS matrix on new customer program PPAP status
  • Verify SQMS PPAP status for service acceptance
  • Print PPAP report out on service as required
  • Support the Bump Chart tracking breakpoints for product changes
  • Attend weekly PPAP call, provide feedback as needed
  • Support scanning the seats (Front row, second row and third row)
  • Overlaying with CAD models using Poly works software
  • Verify lab requirements are preformed per the required schedule
  • Coordinate Assign LPA Assembly Audits and make sure they are completed at plant level
  • Update LPA Weekly
  • Update Line Side Communication weekly
  • Perform IATF Internal Audits as needed
  • Work with Program Management to understands scope of EWO changes, supplier PPAP target dates & support EWO breakpoint dates
  • communicated break point dates to customer
  • Weekly reviews of supplier PPAP’s during launch to support Non- Saleable, Saleable, and Full MRD’s
  • Prepare IMDS request and work with all Lear plants PPAP Coordinates to ensure request are completed timely
  • Submit IMDS request to Lear PETC, follow up and correct issue No BOM issues, supplier, and part number issues as necessary
  • Attend Weekly Bump chart calls with other PPAP Coordinators, Program Managers & BOM Manager
  • Report supplier & customer PPAP status updates
  • Establish supplier and customer breakpoints and update to latest information
  • Review upcoming changes, close completed changes
  • Track all ECN and EWO’s
  • Completed 2 IPPM/COPQ Kaizen projects per year to drive improvements
  • Fill in for Quality Coach as needed
  • Weekly call with GM SQE’S, providing PPAP status
  • Issue Quality Alerts
  • Lead Plant QMS documentation:
  • Plant Process updates
  • Plant Procedure updates
  • Maintain QMS master log for Plant Process / Procedures
  • Document change request process

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in quality and/or internal audit processes, including process/production control methods (i.e. APQP, PPAP, incoming inspection, etc.)

Bonus If You Have:

  • Experience in a JIT manufacturing environment
