As our Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring quality systems and processes are aligned and support the growth and improvement targets of the company. Winchester’s go-to-market strategy centers around its technical capabilities, customer service, and product reliability. This role will work with engineering, operations, business development, and finance to achieve the productivity, quality, cost, and profitable revenue growth targets.


Criteria for Success:

  • BS degree required or 3-5 years of quality experience and education combined
  • RF and cable experience a plus
  • Proficiency in quality, six sigma and lean manufacturing techniques, design for manufacturability, design for assembly, failure mode, and effects analysis techniques in a design and manufacturing environment
  • Ability to direct quality resources to develop and implement test and inspection programs to meet standards
  • Analytical thinker with demonstrated technical ability to perform root cause analysis, prepare and implement action plans, lead improvement initiatives and interface with customer’s technical resources

  • Compile and use data, databases, ERP systems, spreadsheets, etc. to communicate and drive enterprise-wide initiatives
  • ISO-9001-2015 and AS9100 experience

What will you be Accountable for?

  • QMS (quality management system) Continuous improvement - propose and administer best practices across the entire organization and support an effective corrective action process
  • Customer satisfaction and communication, participation on NPI projects, FAI’s, Source inspections, RMA’s, CAR’s, and general customer service
  • Culture - Champion the Winchester culture as well as the total quality culture
  • Ability to measure components and assemblies specified to tight tolerances

Collaborate across all levels of the organization, as well as, our supplier and customer base, in a way that leads by example, holds people accountable, and utilizes data to make informed decisions.


What are you Empowered to do?

  • Support and maintain quality systems to capture, monitor, and manage product and process quality aligning with company tactical and strategic business goals and objectives
  • Assist in the development of and monitor business process performance metrics/indicators as part of quality management, and make recommendations and support process improvements
  • Support a supply chain quality program including supplier qualification, FAI, audits, etc. in conjunction with operations
  • Follow uniform processes for FAI/qualification of products/processes for internal and external customers
  • Support Quality Manager in responding to customer-related quality issues including failure analysis, corrective actions, etc. in conjunction with other functional areas as required
  • Support and maintain a robust corrective action process inclusive of six sigma, design for manufacture, design for assembly, failure mode and effects analysis, and lean manufacturing principles across all functions
  • Prepare for and represent the product group at the customer, supplier quality, ISO and related audits
  • Identify, develop, and support processes and training programs needed to support tactical and strategic quality goals and objectives
  • Assist sales and business development by reviewing customer quality requirements and providing cost estimates when required
  • Maintain the quality management system to assure and support compliance to export regulations
