Wyman-Gordon: Wyman-Gordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. Located in South Gate, California, Shultz Steel is a state-of-the-art forging company specializing in large complex open and closed die forgings for the aerospace industry. We are a supplier of forged products to customers worldwide, with quality accreditations for all the major airframe manufacturers. As a vertically integrated company, Shultz processes include everything from vacuum arc re-melting of low alloy steels to target machining of impression die forged product. Shultz manufactures structural forgings for both civil and military airframes, as well as seamless rolled rings for jet engine, industrial, and space applications. Position Summary:

Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage the MRB and initiate investigation of root cause and corrective actions (internally/externally).
• Manage and monitor the nonconforming material inventory to assure containment, disposition, and release with the required
• Work with cross-functional teams to provide root cause resolution to meet the corporate the mandatory 48-hour response time for root cause and corrective actions.
• Analyze and provide response to the customer escapes through 8Ds (AS13000).
• Assist quality manager with customer return product (RMAs) for proper disposition and analysis of non-conformances.
• Perform SOX audits as a tester.
• Participate in internal audits.
• Work directly with Quality Director and/Quality Manager to prepare training materials on quality related subjects.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of document control procedures and work instructions.
• Facilitate the initiation of and monitor workflows for review and approval of controlled documents.
• Perform regular audits (Internal & Externals, Including Suppliers) of controlled documents and report deficiencies to document owners.
• Assist Quality Manager and/or Designated QE with Customer System & Product Audits

Experience & Education

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; five years’ experience as a Quality Engineer. Training in the forging industry is desired, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Non-destructive testing background preferred.

Pay: $65,100.00 - $98,500.00 per year
