Quality Director Responsible for designing and assuring implementation of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance policies for all manufacturing facilities Duties and Responsibilities * Develop, implement, audit, and maintain all policies and programs as needed for full compliance with FSMA, SQF, FDA and all other regulatory frameworks the company works within * Lead overall Corporate Mission of delivering premium quality snack foods to all company customers * Corporate SQF Practitioner with oversight to compliance for all facilities and senior level manager responsible for Food Safety, Food Security, Quality and Regulatory Compliance * Oversee compliance to Non-GMO, * Gluten Free, and Organic Certified Product initiatives * Use processing data to improve quality consistency, reduce process variability, improve process performance and increase operational effectiveness * Ensure all products conform to established standards to provide customer and regulatory satisfaction and integrity * Develop actions to ensure ongoing performance is achieved and maintained through metrics and other forms of KPI’s * Ensure compliance and review of all required labeling laws and develop nutrition and other labels for packaging development * Oversee and develop management of quality control lab and personnel * Provide technical support to resolve food safety, quality, non-compliance issues and to departments resolving consumer complaints and customer inquiries regarding food safety and quality * Develop and lead an organizational team of associates needed to fulfill these responsibilities * This position shall make appropriate actions to ensure the integrity and management of all activities and coordinating all the information for the SQF system Relationships/Contacts * Oversee the implementation and management of the food safety plan, allergen management, environmental testing, Approved Supplier Program, Approved Contract Services, Recall and Traceability, and Quality programs for all manufacturing facilities * Oversee management of customer complaints and corrective actions * Communicate with customers as required to support sales efforts, quality issues, COA, specification, and other data needs * Conduct compliance audits with third party inspectors, certification experts, State, County, City, and Customer Auditors Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field * At least 10 years of food processing experience * At least 5 years in a compliance role with similar responsibilities Required Skills/Abilities * Proven leadership skills and ability to improve cohesion of compliance department with other areas * SQF Practitioner * Experience with SQF implementation * Strong experience in manufacturing HACCP, SQF, CFR (Code of Federal Regulations), FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act), Food Defense, GMP’s, and SSOP’s * Good problem-solving skills and corrective action/resolution skills. Experience with Corrective Action Systems and must possess excellent organizational skills. · Strong computer skills with experience using Word, Excel, Access, Power Point Preferred Skills * Proven record working as a business partner in a lean manufacturing environment * Experience in working with decision- makers on business strategies and objectives Physical Demands and Work Environment · While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands to arms, and talk to hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
