Position Summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Quality Data Analyst to support it's newly formed Southern Region (Maine Medical Center and Southern Maine Health Care).

The Quality Data Analyst position is an analytical and data visualization role that supports clinical Quality & Patient safety priorities identified by the Leadership of MaineHealth’s Southern Region. This role provides key information to help improve our system-wide clinical performance, reduce patient harm, and improve efficiencies that foster best practices in patient safety and clinical performance.

Working collaboratively with the Southern Region’s leadership, clinical staff, data analysts, project/program managers, and other information technology teams, this role helps to transform clinical data into reliable information that can be used to make sound organizational decisions. The Quality Data Analyst further serves as a resource for data for organization-wide planning and improvement, assists with interpretation of trends in performance to address gaps in quality, and represents the organization as it relates to performance reporting. The role provides learning opportunities and skill building that pave the way to other areas of healthcare quality and improvement.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• License/Certifications: N/A
• Experience: At least five years of relevant healthcare experience required.
• Familiarity with relevant computer software, e.g., Excel, Access, CMS Abstraction and Reporting Tool (CART), or equivalent preferred
• Familiarity with electronic health records preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite or equivalent preferred
• Familiarity with performance improvement tools and concepts, e.g., plan-do-study-act, preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Collaborative and team oriented
