Civil Works Contracting is currently seeking an experienced, Federal Construction Quality Control Manager at the Marshall Flight Center in Huntsville AL.

· Strong knowledge of EM385-1-1 safety requirements.

· Ability to enforce EM385-1-1 safety requirements in a tactful and mature manner.

· Ability to write AHA’s.

· Encourage project site safety, safe work practices and abate job site hazards.

· Supervise all trades and field activities.

· Through understanding of the project plans and specifications.

· Confer with and direct personnel, including supervisory and subcontractor to prevent construction delays.

· Maintain daily log and progress reports of construction/inspection activities.

· Maintain positive relationship with site superintendents, foreman, customers, contractors, suppliers and employees.

· Verify quality of workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications, identify and solve problems.

· Ability to work well with diverse personalities and deal with issues in a tactful and mature manner.

· Verify the accuracy of dimensions, level, alignment, and elevation for layout and installation.

· Compile and maintain project records.

· Must be able to create project schedules, two week look ahead.

· Coordinate and manage construction projects and all activities to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget.

· Estimate, manage and close out projects. Report to Project Manager.

· Maintain high quality with good construction practices.

· Able to travel to various project sites within the southeast United States.

· Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary.

· Write and submit RFI’s.

· Record quantities of materials received and used during a specified period.

· Compute monthly estimate of work completed. Approve payment to suppliers and subcontractors.

· Schedule, manage and supervise completion of punch list.

· Strong written and oral communication skills.

Education and Experience Requirement

· College degree focusing on studies in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture is preferred but not required.

· 30 hr. OSHA certification/1st Aid/CPR/AED certification required.

· QCM certification required.

· Minimum of 10 years as Project Superintendent on $1 mil. plus, contracts which included major trades; or combined experience as QC Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer or Construction Manager.

· Must be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1, and have experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.

· Personal Profile - A self-starter. Attention to detail and quality. Organized with a systematic approach to tasks to achieve accuracy and efficiency. Friendly and out-going and works easily with others.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
