Roller Die, a leader in Roll Form technology for more than 85 years, has an immediate opening in our Rossville facility for a Quality Assurance Specialist.

The ideal candidate will have Metal/Steel Quality experience, excellent computer skills (Excel, WORD, and other necessary computer software technology), and at least 3+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a quality assurance role.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 1P-11:30P with OT, if needed (Note: Must be flexible as schedule may need to be altered to align with production schedule).

Starting Pay Range: $16-$18/hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 1P-11:30P with OT, if needed - Schedule may be adjusted to align with 2nd shift production hours

Position Requirements

1. Be able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications,

2. Be able to use basic measuring devices – micrometers, calipers, tape measure, and check gages,

3. Be able to interpret and fill out quality check sheets on the floor,

4. Be able to interpret part quality based on the quality check sheet,

5. Have basic computer skills in the use of Microsoft Excel & Word,

6. Have basic math skills.

Quality Tech duties will include:

  • Perform 1st piece and last piece inspections,
  • Monitor the floor and fill out check sheets at the line – it will be the duty of the inspectors to fill out the check sheets -- thus keeping the processes going unless there is an issue,
  • Alert management when a quality issue arises,
  • Issue, when necessary, reject tags for: purchased materials, internal parts, & finished goods,
  • Perform sorting and rework, when necessary,
  • Create control plans
  • Perform hourly audits on production process
  • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
  • Read and interpret blue prints
  • Layout parts for first piece material to customers’ specifications
  • Collect, inspect and salvage painted parts
  • Hourly inspection for material and paint thickness
  • Verify conformance of reworked parts
  • Calibrating measuring devices
  • Perform gage R & R
  • Be able to use statistical software
  • Keep order and maintain Q.C. quarantine area
  • Update Green/Orange Tags daily

Qualifications:

2+ years manufacturing experience

2+ years in quality discipline and methodology

Stable work history

Ability to read and understand work instructions. Must be able to complete process paperwork as required. Mathematical aptitude a plus.
