Job description

JOB SCOPE
Responsible for Certification board property testing; identification of inferior product; and retest program that is used to minimize loss. Support the plant operation and monitor the daily quality of the finished panel production.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION

  • Understand quality standards and perform quality control testing on all production material.
  • Conduct product certification tests and maintain test records.
  • Work with the Formaldehyde technician as needed.
  • Monitor quality performance against objectives and enforce countermeasures for performances below target with mill personnel.
  • Maintain accurate and complete test results.
  • Responsible for ensuring samples are pulled on shift at prescribed schedules and prepared for testing.
  • Responsible for identifying retest and processing results in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, package, and ship samples as needed.
  • Ability to operate power tools for sample preparation.
  • Keep quality manager and production personnel immediately informed of products that do not meet specifications.
  • Help maintain a safe and environmentally friendly workplace. Continually verifying that all environmental and safety rules are being followed.
  • Readily exchange information and data with mill management and enforce best practice on the quality level.
  • Willingness to work weekends and nights a must.
  • Management reserves the right to add or change these duties at any time necessary.
  • Take reasonable measures to prevent accidents; following all safety rules at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the lab.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force regularly to move objects.
  • Combination of standing, sitting or walking for extended periods of time.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE__

  • High School diploma or GED, additional education a plus
  • Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Good computer skills, able to work MSWord, MSOffice, Outlook.
  • Required to be available when need during holidays, weekends, odd shifts, and on-call if necessary.
