Norfolk Southern Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and qualified quality assurance analyst to become a member of Norfolk Southern’s CrewPro team. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating user acceptance testing for a complex, high-profile project. The candidate will act as a liaison between management, vendor, and the business partners. The successful QA professional should be proactive and must possess strong analytical and communication skills. They should expect to work closely with the business partners to test code delivered by the vendor.

Location:

Midtown Atlanta, just across from the North Avenue MARTA station with interstate access

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing and communicate test results with management and stakeholders.
  • Document test case execution, test results and defects in detail with efficiency and accuracy
  • Document defects found during testing and monitor defects until issues are resolved
  • Communicate testing status on a regular basis and escalate critical issues as required
  • Coordinate UAT testers by communicating across multiple lines of business and organizing meetings
  • Maintain accurate test cases as systems advance
  • Develop test plans and create test scenarios based on business and functional system requirements.
  • Closely work with the rest of the User Acceptance Testing team to understand requirements and ensure all business needs are met in the application being developed.
  • Alert manager/team lead to potential risks and issues of importance.
  • Interact with others in the business and IT organization
  • Participate in project meetings as needed and work with Project Team to ensure project success
  • Assist business with data validation and input


Requirements:

Skills:

Required: · Ability to decompose high-level business and user functions into test scenarios and test cases. · Must be able to work with our business teams to design, develop, and execute scripts which validate, to a high degree of confidence, test cases defined within the project’s test plan.· Ability to plan and prioritize all the test-related tasks· Ability to develop, configure and optimize processes and workflows· Ability to interact professionally with executives, managers, subject matter experts and development teams · Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills· Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate and build consensus with various internal business partners· Demonstrated accountability in project ownership

Preferred:

· Familiarity with railroad business· Knowledge and experience creating use cases· Knowledge and experience using JIRA · Ability to capture requirements with efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail on a consistent basis· Innate curiosity about users, processes, and systems
