Lead an enthusiastic team of bluebirds and external partners to build the treatment center network that delivers our scientific promise to healthcare providers and patients. Reporting to VP, Sales and Qualified Treatment Center Engagement (QTC), this role will serve as commercial leadership of the treatment center network. This role will work internally with a diverse cross-functional bluebird bio team to ensure a seamless customer experience with our treatment center network. This role will be customer-facing and lead external engagement and relationship and business management with all treatment center stakeholders, from hospital administration to clinical staff, to enable patient treatment and a sense of partnership with our treatment center network.


HOW YOU'LL FLY

You'll help to bring patients and their families more bluebird days by:

  • Leading bluebird bio commercial collaboration with US QTCs across the entire Severe Genetic Disease portfolio; Lead C-suite conversations across the QTC network
  • Driving accountability to performance targets and ensuring we show up in front of stakeholders in a manner consistent with bluebird bio values
  • Partnering with the sales team to ensure the QTC network experience is integrated with our account management strategy and QTC support model
  • Driving organization engagement of sites of care, including work-plan tracking, contract terms negotiation, and site onboarding and building and executing a comprehensive account plan for qualified treatment centers, referral networks, and community practices and manage approved resources within the provided budget
  • Partnering with market access, patient services, marketing, field medical affairs, and other internal bluebird bio team members to ensure healthcare providers and other account-based decision-makers have timely access to clinical, health economic, and outcomes research information
  • Educating community accounts within the region on the value of gene therapy while gaining, synthesizing, and communicating valuable insights that enable the assessment of stakeholder needs
  • Developing account/business management model for QTCs post-FDA approval; set up tracking, management, and care network key performance metrics
  • Developing go-to-market regional, local, and account-based strategies and execute in a manner that redefines the system to support one-time gene therapies and autonomously driving engagement of the Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) network and support the build of the SCD QTC engagement team

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

You're the bird we're looking for if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree preferred and 10+ years of experience in healthcare industry, preferably in operations / account management, hospital operations / administration, clinical operations, or public health
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and strong problem solving skills for business management of territory; Clinical selling experience (high level of clinical acumen)
  • Experience and strong capability to engage and negotiate contract terms with hospital administrators and health care providers; experience with higher priced therapies preferred
  • Knowledge of payer coverage for specialty products, distribution, and reimbursement environment
  • Experience working with institutional or integrated delivery systems and/or large community accounts, with a sustained track record of achievement and knowledge of payer coverage for specialty products, distribution, and reimbursement environment
  • Demonstrated experience in specialty therapeutic areas such as rare disease, Hematology, Transplant, Oncology/Immunology or cell and gene therapy, strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills applying a consultative approach to establish and sustain a strong network with a wide range of stakeholders
