Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (40hrs)


OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
:

The Quality Assurance Program Specialist supports the Quality Assurance Department in all QA/QC, Quality Improvement, Regulatory, Safety and Compliance activities that support all corporate operations including incident reviews, investigations, audits, surveys, process improvement activities, training and risk management. All work is completed in compliance with all local, state and federal rules and regulations including but not limited to those mandated by NY State, OMH, OASAS, CMS, DOH, OPWDD, NY State Justice Center and OCFS.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the QA/Compliance Director with ensuring quality related deliverables are achieved in the areas of internal and external auditing and incident management.
  • Assist the QA/Compliance Director in facilitating daily department huddles and ensuring all tracking grids are maintained.
  • Provide support to Clinical, IDD, and OCFS/DOH Quality Teams in completing investigations and/or audits as needed and assigned.
  • Provide support to Clinical, IDD and OCFS/DOH Quality Teams in maintenance of Incident Management files to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and agency protocol.
  • Interface with NYS Incident Management Systems, including but not limited to IRMA, NIMRS, and WSIR.
  • Assist the QA/Compliance Director in the development, implementation and evaluation of the agency wide annual quality program plan.
  • Assist with Incident Review Committee meeting preparation and facilitation, including meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with agency programs, departments and leadership.
  • Participate in Quality Committees (including: Incident Management, Compliance Review, Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance Committees, QA subcommittees). Provide data and inputs to dashboards, reports and the Board of Directors
  • Assist in organizing and managing external program reviews across the organization including tracking and preparing monthly report for the Board of Directors.
  • Assist the QA/Compliance Director with completing quality assurance reporting and trend analyses.
  • Serve on agency-wide committees as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in internal and external meetings related to quality, regulatory and compliance requirements on behalf of the QA/Compliance Director, as requested.
  • Assist the QA/Compliance Director in development, review, and revision of Quality Assurance protocols and processes.
  • Additional duties may be assigned to support the overall quality efforts of the organization.


QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
:


  • The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, be self-motivated and proactive, be able to work collaboratively with all members of a team, and know to escalate issues appropriately.


Must be able to:

  • Pass background check
  • Pass a Child Protective Services Clearance
  • Pass a drug and alcohol screening
  • Present valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and fax machines


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
:


  • Associate’s Degree with at least 1 year of experience in a related field.
    • Or
  • At least 5 years of experience working either either Child Welfare and/or Dept. of Health, OPWDD, and Clinical.
  • Entry-level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
