Job Overview:
The Purchasing Specialist supports the Purchasing | Inventory Control Manager and Whaley branch offices with achieving proper inventory flow and management.

Purchasing Specialist Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintains accurate inventory levels and performs inventory analysis on select product lines.
• Utilizes ordering system to review merchandise lead times, forecasts, and or trends.
• Consistently acknowledges, creates, and expedites purchases orders.
• Analyzes warehouse needs and adjusts min/maxes as needed.
• Supports branch offices with attaining and maintaining inventory compliance.
• Builds positive working relationships with vendors and other professionals.
• Responds to purchasing inquiries and resolves issues in a manner consistent with Whaley core values.
• Assembles, computes, and maintains reporting and statistical data for merchandise.
• Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or similar.
• 1-2 years of purchasing and or inventory management experience.

Skills and Abilities and Other Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Consistently manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong windows-based computer skills including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Access.
• Experience with Davisware platform would be a plus.

Work Environment:

• Corporate office with some exposure to shop environment.
• 80% + keyboarding work
• Sitting for extended periods of time
