HireLevel is seeking an experienced Purchaser/Buyer for a building and design company that will service both of its locations in Murphysboro and Sparta, IL. This person would assume responsibility for purchasing and monitoring inventory for all stock and commodity items in assigned departments. The ideal candidate would come with phenomenal communication abilities, super strong organization skills, retail sales skills, computer confidence, and experience in the buying/purchasing world. This person will need to be 3 steps ahead of all purchasing needs and feel confident with their decisions. If this describes you, then you should apply!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze specific daily, weekly, monthly, yearly reports and take associated actions
• Act preemptively to address potential stock out situations
• Plan purchasing
• Assess market conditions and purchase accordingly to maximize profit potential
• Consult with sales teams and department managers to determine future needs and factor logistical considerations into purchase planning
• Arrange stock transfers to maximize efficiency
• Build relationships with vendors
• Review and maintain preferred vendor listing for each SKU in assigned departments
• Update all replacement costs for assigned departments on a regular basis
• Maintain library of product specification sheets and samples for assigned departments
• Work with Accounts Payable Department to quickly resolve vendor invoice problems
• Manage physical and computer receiving process
• Other duties as assigned by Management

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication
• Experience in purchasing for a retail company
• Great understanding of the purchasing/buying world and what it takes to stay ahead of trends and seasons
• Positive attitude and motivation
• Great comfortability and experience in Computer use
• Stellar organization skills
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
• Will be exposed to outside weather conditions and a dirty and dusty environment
• Required to sit and use a computer for long periods of time
• Required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
