Job description
JOB SUMMARY:
- Develops relationships, and if necessary MOUs/MAAs, with other departments within the County, other county jurisdictions and organizations that might provide a pool of volunteers to assist the department during a public health emergency activation, a training exercise or other community event with a public health focus.
- Coordinates and oversees contract of the MRC managing organization. Communicates with organization leadership, participates in recruitment activities, training activities and retention activities. Coordinates MRC volunteer needs during exercises and public health activations with the managing organization.
- Organizes volunteers from all sources for community engagement, training, exercises and if needed, activation. Activities should be designed to increase competencies, while also encouraging participation and retention of volunteers between needed public health activations.
- Participates in exercises with the division, county or region for public health response in table top or full-scale mode, with particular emphasis on volunteer management
- Supports volunteer recruitment, orientation, and training needs for large scale community events such as back to school health fairs, holiday toy distribution to needy families, See to Succeed vision screening events, etc.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
SALARY RANGE: $19.11 - $23.01 hourly, based on qualifications
