Job Title: Psychologist, Hourly
Department: Extended Learning and Community Schools
Location: Various DPS locations, including: Centennial, Inspire, Lowry, Sandoval, Southmoor, Bill Roberts, Slavens, Steck, Westerly Creek, Cory, Barnum, DCIS Fairmont, DMLK (Middle), Hallett, Munroe, Traylor, Kaiser.
FTE: 40 Hours a week for 8 weeks, with the exception of 6/19 & 7/4.
Schedule: Hours vary, schedule set with supervisor. This position will work from 6/12-8/4.
Rate: $42.88 DCTA

Essential Functions and Objectives:
Administers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility. Serves as the subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes. Provide social/emotional student support and consultation to improve social and psychological functioning of students and their families and to maximize academic functioning during the Summer of 2023. This position will support all ELCS Summer Camp locations ( Discovery Link and Enrichment ), In addition to these sites this position will also support three community partner organizations as need arises (Generation Teach, Scholars Unlimited, and Boys and Girls Club).

Commitment includes:
  • Assesses students using psycho-educational assessments and tools and consults with staff and parents, making recommendations for developmentally appropriate services and strategies to assist in improving student achievement.

  • Participates in crisis management by counseling and/or making referrals.
  • Counsels students and parents (in groups and individually) and consults with staff in the development of appropriate behavior goals
    .
  • Develops individual and group problem-solving techniques and interpersonal relation skills.
  • Provides a climate within which parents, students, and staff can gain assistance with problems.
  • Evaluates student learning needs
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of strong home-school links and resource information.

  • Direct work with students on social/emotional needs, initiate and complete safety protocols and action plans.
  • support with family conversations, observations, tracking data on support offered, being on call to support student needs.

Education & Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the administration and interpretation of a variety of test instruments to evaluate: cognitive ability, learning aptitudes, academic skills and eligibility for special education.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using consultation techniques that allow for providing effective techniques that address problems in learning and behavior.

Licensure & Certification:
  • Colorado Department of Education Special Provider License -School Psychology; Professional Special Services License or the ability to obtain one
