Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading complex, enterprise-level projects from initiation to execution, ensuring that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track. This position will be initially focused on leading the Global eLearning project. The goal of this project is to launch a global eLearning product built upon a learning management system.

This individual will leverage advanced proficiency with project management principles and methodologies to design, launch and manage the Global eLearning project within the organization’s project management framework and best practices to be shortly launched by a newly builtout Project Management Office. Responsibilities include development of a robust project management plan, project stewardship towards achievement of project deliverables, preparation of status reports, and establishment of effective project communication plans. The project manager will also ensure proper tracking of budgets, resource utilization, and forecasts to support the objectives of the project.

This position will promote the empowerment of the project team to ensure each team member is fully engaged in the assigned project(s) and assists in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work, and leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management 55%

Assists in defining project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organizes and leads project status and working meetings; prepares and distributes progress reports; manages risks and issues; corrects deviations from plans; and performs delivery planning for assigned projects, including but not limited to:

  • Uses project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.
  • Manages the triple constraints (scope, schedule, resources) and critical path of the project to ensure successful launch of the project.
  • Oversees and manages performance including budget, schedule, forecasting, resources,and reporting.
  • Leads coordination of project team leads to make sure all project team members are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
  • Establishes effective, regular project communication and ensures plans meet the needs of multiple audiences associated with the assigned project(s).
  • Facilitates change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
  • Acts as secondary point of contact for partners and vendors in conjunction with product lead(s) / owner(s).

Stakeholder Management 15%

  • Provides consistent and comprehensive status reporting, organizational/executive-level dashboards, project updates, ongoing cost analyses, and communication at project and executive levels.
  • Engages customer stakeholders to understand desired business outcomes and define success criteria.
  • Obtains team leads’ acceptance and signoff of project deliverables.
  • Consults with advisory group on different functional issues and report status to appropriate management.
  • As applicable, defines change management objectives and delivers communication to ensure awareness and understanding of business transformation objectives related to the project.

Risk Management 15%

  • Manages escalation of risks and issues; holds executive sponsor and individual team members accountable to effectively mitigate, manage, and resolve issues based on priority and impact
  • Coordinates communication with all areas of the organizations that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed.
  • Works with project team members to identify and resolve roadblocks.
  • Establishes process to manage changes for all project components.

Talent Management 15%

  • Challenge and maximize the strength of the team by aligning their efforts to meet project objectives and deliver results.
  • Foster productive collaboration across teams and functions, utilizing multiple talent practices to ensure cohesive effort and rational use of committed resources.
  • Establish regular cadence of individual and team performance review and feedback.

Management Responsibility:

Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individuals comprising this team may vary by project.

Scope Data:

  • Accountable for individually assigned goals and metrics, including project performance. Contributes to organizational projects and metrics, as applicable.
  • Uses independent judgement in addressing project performance variation, prioritization of tasks/assignments and/or risks within scope of job responsibilities.
  • Influences and drives recommendations to senior leadership on enterprise-level project management practices and methodologies.
  • Leads tasks and solution design of moderate complexity and sensitivity.
  • Proactively identifies and recommends improvements to existing processes, workflows and/or assigned tasks.
  • Accountable for accuracy of all data provided to leadership.
  • These individuals or groups may be impacted by and or are important and influential to the success of this role’s primary functions: Regional business teams, Project Sponsors + Project Leads, Project Management Office, Global Operations, Global Impact; Relationship Manager, Strategic Development.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent related work experience in technology, information systems, project management, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • At least 6 years of proven experience in technology-related and/or enterprise-level project management, including:
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery as the lead project manager.
  • Ability to align + coordinate multi-function project teams of various sizes and third-party service providers to meet project requirements and objectives.
  • Ability to understand the grasp complex technical concepts and system-designs, comfortable participating in technical discussions and help make technical trade-offs.
  • At least 1 year of experience supervising, coaching, and/or developing staff.
  • Advanced proficiency with formal project management practices + methodologies.
  • Highly effective cross-functional collaboration and partnership withthe ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence.
  • Proficient (written and verbal) in English.

Preferred:

  • Experience with digital service delivery and/or Learning Management System platforms.
  • Competency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Teamwork, and Smartsheet.
  • Experience working with financial institutions.
  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while keeping in mind the big picture.
  • Experience with large initiatives that required organizational change management skill.
  • Language: Proficiency (written and verbal) in other languages is a plus.
  • Certification(s): Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile/Scrum certification strongly preferred.

Travel Requirement: Up to 10% of domestic and global travel.
