The Advanced Digital Design and Manufacturing (ADAM) project seeks to accelerate Airbus' transition towards digital design and manufacturing. The team is uniquely positioned to identify and innovate on emerging technologies with collaborators in Silicon Valley and across the globe. ADAM provides a platform to drastically reduce aerospace product lead-times and production costs. Through our tool-agnostic framework, we integrate existing and newly developed software solutions. We provide easy-to-use tools to design and automate processes in aerospace manufacturing.

The Opportunity

As ADAM's Project Manager, you are responsible for planning and tracking the high-level activities of the team, identifying dependencies, analyzing risks to create adequate contingencies, and ensuring timely delivery all within budget. This position reports to ADAM's Project Executive.

In this role, you will focus on prioritizing relationships and communicating fluently with both technical leaders and team members. You'll partner with engineering leads to manage planning and reporting efforts. You will also manage a complex set of internal and external stakeholders, including Acubed legal, finance, and leadership teams as well as Airbus finance, engineering, and manufacturing organizations. You will ensure progress by identifying and driving continuous improvement. Most importantly, you possess a strong sense of ownership, a passion for helping teams solve complex problems, and have the know-how to foster strong relationships and build trust within the team and among stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support and organize activities of the team, using latest planning tools and methodologies
• Track overall progress, identify discrepancies and update team on progress
• Work with ADAM Project Engineers to conduct periodic and ad-hoc project schedule and budget analysis, prepare results in tabular and graphical formats, and present sound advice to management.
• Compile financial needs, prepare the yearly budget, and administer it, keeping tight grip of financial forecasting
• Proactively oversee budget as required by unforeseen events, manage and update as needed the project's cost breakdown structure
• Manage project budgetary risks and opportunities and associated action plans
• Analyze project actuals and commitments at the end of each month
• Monitor the status of purchase orders and contracts and prepare financial accruals at the end of each month, as well as provide guidance on contract renewals
• Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and contract amendments in consultation with the legal team as required
• Support the team in preparing long-term budget estimates and business cases
• Provide clarity to stakeholders on current project statuses and make sound recommendations to the Project Executive and ADAM Leadership Team
• Implement and improve project and program management methods in response to ongoing tasks and to accommodate the continued growth of the team and scope
• Act as the main point of contact between the ADAM technical team and other Acubed departments (Legal, Finance, IT, etc)
• Pursue program-specific tasks and issues identified by Senior Management to conclusion in a timely manner

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in related field or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of professional experience in project or program management
• Ability to build an excellent rapport with internal constituents: engineers and technologists with a variety of personalities and styles
• Strong program and project management skills. Proven experience managing complex projects to successful completion including the ability to navigate complex environments and work with interdisciplinary teams and effectively communicate priorities, delivery expectations, risks and concerns to senior management
• Ability to define and/or modify processes rather than applying what exists today
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements, including the ability to multi-task and juggle many competing priorities and deadlines
• High tolerance for ambiguity
• Ability to be extremely detail-oriented and to use analysis to drive decisions
• Proven ability to work in a matrix-style organizational structure to motivate and influence others
• Excellent verbal and written communication and influencing skills
• Strong organizational and team building skills
• Documented proof of fully vaccinated status required (or qualify for an exemption)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud services and deployment
• PMP, Scrum and/ or Six Sigma certifications
• Knowledge and experience with critical software applications with strong Quality Assurance (QA) processes
• A Master's degree in a technical field (computer science, mathematics, etc.) with 5+ years of related experience
