Metal Framing, Drywall, EIFS, Paint Project Engineer

A BEK Project Engineer is primarily responsible for coordinating, filing, tracking, logging, reviewing, and communicating information and documentation on a project. The Project Engineer will also provide both technical and administrative assistance to the Project Manager and Superintendent as required; reporting directly to the Project Manager and In certain situations where responsibilities overlap, the Project Engineer may report to both the Project Manager and the Project Superintendent. Specific job responsibilities and skills include, but are not limited to:

Project Startup/Preconstruction/

1. Assist the Project Manager initialize project document logs (RFIs, Drawings, Submittals, etc.)

2. Thoroughly review the project specifications and help create a schedule for all required samples, shop drawings, test reports, and other submittal requirements. Organize the schedule according to BEK standard operating procedures and communicate with the subcontractors to determine quantity of submittal packages, due dates, etc.

3. Coordinate with the Project Manager and Superintendent to identify critical long-lead items and help develop a project procurement schedule

4. Setup an engineering document file system according to BEK standard procedures

5. Develop a thorough understanding of project plans and documents

Construction

6. Coordinate with the Project Safety Manager to promote jobsite safety

7. Organize, manage, and track the submittal/shop drawing review process to help ensure that all required submittals will be reviewed and approved in a timely manner.

8. Work with the Project Manager and field supervision team in maintaining a current procurement schedule.

9. Help create and log a clear and concise "Requests for Information" as needed, that will be understood and answered by the Project Design Team.

10. Maintain and help ensure that installations of our scopes of work are in accordance with the plans and specifications

11. Assist the Project Manager with reviewing drawings for potential change orders.

12. Help with tracking the distribution and storage of all documents, including: drawing sets, specifications, sketches, RFI's, ASIs, permits, etc.

13. Assist the Superintendent with coordination, including the coordination drawing process, coordination meetings, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
