Overview
This Project Engineer is responsible for the planning, coordinating, evaluating, and executing Meritor Electrification activities at the plants manufacturing various ePowertrain components. This will include working with cross-functional teams to ensure Asheville and Forest City are successful with on time ePowertrain builds while working towards a zero-defect quality goal.

The Project engineer will be required to manage the internal Asheville and Forest City electrification operations projects to mature and optimize the processes and material flow to reduce cycle time and cost. Activity will require working with engineering, supply chain, product quality, production, product and project cost, scheduling and performance, and launch activity



Job Responsibilities:
  • Manages implementation of new ePowertrain product, cost reduction and operational improvement initiatives at Asheville and Forest City to meet business objectives including profitability, budget, and timing.
  • Leads cross-functional teams and interfaces with all internal departments working on plant based electrification projects, to keep up to date on project status and ensure timely completion.
  • Manage activities to improve plant material storage, delivery lineside and on-time availability
  • Coordinate local implementation of electrification new products and changes to existing products.
  • Work with manufacturing to manage the optimization of the assembly process for ePowertrain components
  • Work with manufacturing to manage the optimization of the production scheduling of ePowertrain products on the assembly lines
  • Coordinate documentation requirements for Quality, Packaging, and Assembly
  • Ensures proper coordination, prioritization, and communication of project objectives.
  • Aggressively pursue execution excellence utilizing standardized project management tools and compliance to Meritor processes including PCCR, C2C, etc.

Job Requirements:


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors Degree required, Masters degree preferred
  • 3 years of related project management experience preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified preferred
  • Progressive responsibilities and successes in medium to large projects through their lifecycle
  • Experience leading a team in a cross-functional environment
  • Commercial vehicle market experience preferred
  • New product development execution experience
  • Automotive Product and Quality Process (APQP) stage gate expertise
  • Good communication and presentation skills are required
