The Epidemiology Department at Boston University School of Public Health is seeking to hire a Project Coordinator to work on two NIH research studies aimed at improving health outcomes of marginalized populations, including adults with Down Syndrome and racially minoritized groups. The Project Coordinator will manage study protocols and procedures, Institutional Review Board applications, and oversee study staff, as well as plan regular research team meetings, draft meeting agendas and maintain meeting minutes. Responsibilities will include making travel arrangements, scheduling meetings, ordering supplies, coordinating study participant compensation, and other administrative tasks. The Coordinator will recruit and lead community co-research teams of adults with Down Syndrome and be responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of these teams, as well as be responsible for the retention of community stakeholders in group model-building workshops related to racial and ethnic disparities in perinatal outcomes, and assist with literature review and grant writing. Basic quantitative data analysis may also be required.


Required Skills
  • Bachelors degree is required. Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience is required.
  • Fluent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and web browsers.
  • Candidates should be very comfortable with learning to use project management tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a team and engage in a professional manner with community participants.
  • Ability to handle competing demands and prioritize tasks to achieve established goals.
  • Candidates for this position should be highly-motivated and results-driven. Additionally, they should have an interest in public health and/or clinical research.
  • This is a hybrid position for someone local to be on-premises to coordinate workshops and events.
  • Some early evening and weekend work hours may be necessary when engaging with community members.
