Lead the project controls team to ensure the projects scope is fully determined, accurately estimated and planned for Final Investment Decision (FID). Provides support to leaders and stake holders with risk awareness in scheduling, and cost planning. Supports project managers and construction managers during the construction phases to ensure Enviva meets obligations with respect to schedule commitments. Support Enviva in the prevention, review and defense of third-party claims.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, interprets, and executes policy, objectives, and standards applicable to cost and schedule control and analysis activities
  • Provides project leaders and relevant stakeholders with risk awareness support and guidance as necessary.
  • Oversee planning and estimating process to enable an informed investment decision at FID
  • Collaborate with Project Program Manager to determine cost & schedule baseline and ensure proper measurement and tracking against that baseline
  • Develop project tracking and reporting tools to identify cost and schedule trends in order to mitigate risks and take advantage of opportunities
  • Oversee project cost forecast process
  • Oversee project risk management analysis
  • Oversee project scheduling process
  • Interact with the Project Management team and Corporate development team and participate in regular project meetings.
  • Analyze cost and schedule trends identify performance issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Oversee reconciliation of project estimate to project budget and conforming estimate to project requirements for WBS level of control

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of project execution experience
  • Minimum 5 years of dedicated project controls management experience
  • Bachelors in Business or BS in Construction management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Project Controls experience in cost, scheduling and risk management
  • Ability to direct project controls teams to accomplish project and program objectives
  • Ability to evaluate and resolve project economic and scope issues.
  • Driver of action
  • Comfortable speaking and presenting detailed information in a group setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with the ability to learn other applications related to the job
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6
  • Unwavering sense of trust, respect, honesty, and integrity
  • Highly detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Must be data-driven and possess a high level of attention to detail
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to prioritize workload

Travel requirements

  • Able to travel to engineering and vendor offices, Bethesda Corporate, Raleigh Corporate, and other Enviva Plants and Ports, as necessary. Expected travel is approximately 30% but may change dependent upon business needs.
  • Ability to be deployed to respective site.

Working Conditions

  • Able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment, and construction office environment
  • Able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Able to work onsite and on call as project timelines require.
  • Ability to be deployed to respective site.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently safely and successfully with the ADA.
  • Able to climb multiple flight of steps as needed as
  • Able to work on computer screen format for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
  • Able to walk construction sites at various stages of completion and weather conditions.
