Project Architect Responsibilities:
  • Direct and coordinate production of schematic, design development, and construction documents and specifications in compliance with Halff and client standards.
  • Organize and direct the architectural and engineering teams, in-house and outside consultants, to execute the work in an orderly, timely and coordinated manner.
  • Ensure that project meets the budget goals and schedules set by the client.
  • Coordination with government agencies, utility companies and resolve plan check and approval issues with the agencies.
  • Must exhibit strong knowledge of building codes and have the ability to ensure compliance.
  • Direct, organize and mentor junior staff with the responsibility of overseeing their assignments.
  • Support Project Manager, Production Director and/or Client Executive in supervision of project staff.
  • Be responsible for planning, developing, and executing technical documentation which may include interpreting, organizing, and coordinating project team assignments
  • Perform construction administration duties (e.g., RFI’s, RFP’s, change orders, etc.)
  • Execute applicable agency review analysis (accessibility, code, zoning, life-safety, etc.)
  • Participate in marketing efforts and may lead presentations to prospective clients
Project Architect Requirements:
  • A professional degree in Architecture
  • Licenses Architect in State of Texas or ability to become licensed in Texas within 3 months
  • 10-15+ years of experience, including 5 years as a project architect
  • Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
  • Thorough knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IDP).
  • Advanced knowledge of QA/QC process.
  • Advanced knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents.
  • Proficiency in Revit required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as Sketchup, Rhino and Grasshopper preferred.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software preferred.
