Program Support Specialist

This position is ideal for an experienced professional in conducting youth programs. The Program Support Specialist will typically work at one of our sites during standard hours. This is a full-time position, available for the duration of the youth program assigned.

The Program Support Specialist will provide support to the youth program by reinforcing lessons, tutoring individual students or small groups, documenting progress, and making lesson preparations.

Assistants will be monitoring students' progress and help them to learn the material that teachers present. They will check work, supervise playtime, prepare for special activities (i.e., Holiday Party), and always ensure the safety and care of youth. The Program Support Specialist will be assigned tasks in accordance with the seasonal needs of the company and/or site, some common responsibilities emerge.

Some daily tasks include, but is not limited to:

• Preparing for lessons
• Listening to children read, reading to them
• Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
• Plan learning activities and complete records
• Managing class behavior by recognizing the participant's need for emotional support
• Supervising group activities
• Clearing away materials and equipment after lessons
• Helping with outings and sports events
• Taking part in training
• Scanning and making copies of any forms needed by parents or guardians of program participants, worksheets, fliers, or anything delegated by the Program Manager of the site.
• Responsible for locking up, caring, and cleaning organizational inventory utilized at the site, in additional to reporting anything low in stock or needed to the Program Manager.
• Completing the daily tasks of sign-in sheets (correctly dated), filing and organization of sign-in sheets, meal count sheets, staff time sheets, educational documents, assist with cleanliness of the site, following AAYD policies and procedures, and always practice appropriate attire and communication.
