We're looking for someone to join our team as a Program Specialist, Informatics who:

Promotes the integration of clinical sciences with computer science and information science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge and wisdom in clinical practice. Maintains responsibility for identifying, prioritizing and evaluating the educational needs of clinical staff and physicians in the utilization of electronic information systems and clinical workflow. Develops and delivers educational programs, including specialty training, new graduate/hire training, and continuing education for staff and physicians related to clinical information systems. Serves as a clinical information systems expert and applies this knowledge to clinical and operational workflows.

Essential Functions:

• Participates in all aspects of information systems life cycle management including analysis, design, implementation, maintenance and evaluation. Serves as a clinical expert and applies this knowledge into clinical and operational workflows. Conducts on going evaluation of information systems and clinical workflows to ensure quality, integrity, availability and appropriate timing of clinical data.
• Develops strategies to promote and maintain data integrity. Provides care in a skilled and effective manner, utilizing appropriate technical and decision-making skills. Investigates clinical practice concerns associated with technology and information systems, evaluates clinical and data integrity risks and develops corrective action plan/s. Responds to changes in clinical practice, nursing theory and the intersection of clinical informatics. Develops programs to support changes. Conducts research into professional/community practice standards and clinical innovations/technology for improved patient outcomes. Assesses needs, formulates education plans with implementation of educational strategies, and evaluates of knowledge/practice related to the use of information systems.
• Participates in interdisciplinary committees to integrate technology and informatics into clinical care including the creation of hospital policy and clinical workflows. Participates in strategic initiatives including outreach activities, such as population health and electronic health record connectivity. Works under minimal supervision.
• Escalates patient safety concerns, as needed. Participates in cost effectiveness initiatives, seeks opportunities to eliminate inappropriate and wasteful use of resources, makes recommendations and assists in development of plans to meet monthly operational budget.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
