PROGRAM SPECIALIST
Center for Developmentally Disabled (CDD) / Rainbow Center is a private, not-for-profit corporation founded in 1972. CDD provides residential care services and day habilitation to adults with developmental disabilities in the greater Kansas City, MO area.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor individualized services based on person centered principles; and, oversee Person Center Plan (PCP) implementation and documentation;
  • Act as the direct contact person with the state(KCRO) and county(EITAS) for ensuring that PCP's are in accordance with Missouri Quality Outcomes, meetings are scheduled as needed, and that pertinent information is included;
  • Supervise program staff in behavior management, crisis intervention, behavioral counseling, along with monitoring the protection of residents rights;
  • Submit all Annual Plan-related documentation according to Annual Plan schedule;
  • Maintain Case Record files;
  • Serve as chairperson of a quarterly, standing committee;
  • Complete discharge summaries and follow-up of residents leaving the agency or transferring to other locations within the agency;
  • Facilitate monthly program meetings at each site;
  • Alter personal schedule when needed to observe all program operations;
  • Formally review on a monthly basis, or as needed, resident progress, medical records and documentation in Therap, case records, resident money ledgers and cash balances;
  • Complete, update and submit monthly reviews to Support Coordinators;
  • Correspond with referring agencies and day service agencies for program related issues;
  • Attend meetings and in-service training as scheduled;

Program Specialist providing Community Living Supervision, you will:

  • Co-supervise Residential Specialist along with Program Director as directed;
  • Communicate with Residential Specialist and Lead Direct Support Specialist daily to provide consistency in addressing resident needs and the overall running of the home;
  • Be responsible for disciplinary matters along with Residential Specialist which include minor policy and procedure violations;
  • Serve as the contact person for relaying house/programmatic information to the Program Director;
  • Assist with completing and reviewing staff evaluations with Residential Specialist;
  • Be on-call for occasional or extended absence of a Residential Specialist

You would probably be great for this role if you have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, rehabilitation, social or behavioral science field with minimum 2 years of supervisory experience with persons with developmental disabilities;
  • Master's degree in education, rehabilitation, social or behavioral science field preferred with two years program management and staff supervisory experience;
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass medication, adult CPR and First Aid classes
  • Your own car and car insurance
  • Experience in the developmental disabilities field
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds consistently, 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
