WHO are we looking for?

Saft America is looking for a full-time Program Documentation Specialist. In this position, you will contribute to the design and development of the next generation of lithium-ion batteries for Defense, Space, and Racing applications. Saft is HQ’ed in France, with 4,300 employees in 18 countries. Our manufacturing site in Cockeysville houses the research and development of Saft America’s Space and Defense Divisions.

What will you DO?

End of Line/Shipping Coordination/Support

A primary focus of this role is to ensure that needed product shipments (usually battery cells) are achieved. In this role, the coordinator is the last line of defense to ensure good product is shipped to the customer. This involves interfacing with:

• Program Managers to understand customer needs for timing, quantities, and data
• Quality/Engineering to understand product requirements
• Operations to receive/coordinate/package/provide to shipping department the product as needed.

A longer-term goal is to assist in the development of better automation to streamline the process to simplify and reduce the workload associated with getting product shipped.

Program Quality Support

Another focus of the position is to assist the Program team with tracking and monitoring important quality metrics for projects and products. This can include assisting with:

• Pareto analysis of defects/fallout/downtime
• root cause analysis to enhance understanding
• resolving non-conformances
• 8D reports to capture and convey to customers the results of quality investigations.

Documentation Support

The last area of focus for this position is to support the Program team with documentation needs. This includes:

• tracking from development through release of engineering manufacturing documentation
• assisting in completion of PowerPoint presentations for customers or management to convey program status
• tracking and collation of test reports
• assistance in preparation/submittal of proposal documentation
• general checking/editing of documentation prepared by engineers, program team, and others at the Saft Cockeysville site.

What experience is REQUIRED or PREFERRED?

• Candidates should have a background in science, engineering or manufacturing.
• Applicants should have a completed Bachelor of Science degree.
• Ideal candidates will also have two plus years of experience.
• We are looking for someone who is curious, data driven, and motivated to contribute in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment.

What is the STATUS of the role?

• This will be a salaried, full-time position in Cockeysville, Maryland.
