Who We Seek
RFK Community Alliance has an exciting opportunity for a Program Director/Senior Consultant who will be directly responsible for managerial, operations and project oversight of the RFK National Resource Center primary program focus areas (Probation System Review (PSR), Dual Status Youth (DSY), and Alternative Response (ARI) Initiatives). This will also include partnering with the RFK NRC Executive Director, RFK NRC Deputy Executive Director, and other assigned consultants in providing technical assistance and on-site consultation in selected participant jurisdictions. The Program Director/Senior Consultant will ensure effective coordination and integration of all project activities with the RFK NRC. The Program Director/Senior Consultant will work closely with the RFK NRC Deputy Executive Director to develop marketing and communication methods to expand the number of state and local partnerships that result in PSR, DSY, and ARI technical assistance agreements. The Program Director/Senior Consultant will provide leadership to the Transformation of Youth Justice (TYJ) Practice Network to ensure their expertise and input is effectively utilized toward the goals, activities, and tasks set out in the probation system review focus area. Additionally, the Program Director/Senior Consultant will lead the development of the PSR, DSY, and ARI Training Institutes in coordination with the RFK NRC staff.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and managerial oversight for PSR, DSY, and Alternative Response Initiatives.
  • Provide site based consultation, training and technical assistance for PSR, DSY, and ARI projects
  • Serve as leader and coordinator of the TYJ Practice Network in coordination with Director of Operations
  • Develop on-site training and distance learning events for RFK National Resource Center (e.g., targeted 1-day training, Webinar, Webcasts, etc.) related to the PSR, DSY, ARI initiatives
  • Partner with the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director to manage work with RFK National Resource Center sub-contracted partners to develop new tools, resources, and legislative approaches at the local, state, and national level
  • Explore opportunities to develop additional funding partners for PSR, DSY and ARI Initiative efforts in support of the RFK National Resource Center
  • Periodic travel to selected conferences, symposia, and meetings for presentation and/or training with Resource Center Partnership colleagues and other national organizations and strategic allies
  • Attend & present PSR, DSY, and ARI training material at meetings at various locations as needed
  • Work with E.D. and Deputy E.D. on special projects and other duties as required and assigned

Who You Are
You are someone who leads with compassion and who values collaboration, professionalism, and teamwork. The best-qualified candidate will have a master’s level degree or certificate indicating an advanced level of experience or understanding of the youth justice system; and at least 15 years of experience in juvenile justice and/or related policy or practice reform; highly motivated and resourceful self-starter with the ability to work both independently and closely with key stakeholders at the local, state and national level; a strong commitment to the organization’s mission; strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities along with excellent interpersonal, planning, and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32,838.92 - $114,658.82 per year
