Potomac State College (WVU Keyser), part of the West Virginia University system of campuses, located in Keyser, WV is seeking applications for a Program Coordinator, Office on Violence Against Women Grant.

About the Opportunity

The Program Coordinator has the responsibility of facilitating the development and implementation of statutory and program requirements, as well as, coordinating and managing grant-related activities. Their responsibilities include establishing and strengthening relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance institutional response to address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking; coordinating comprehensive prevention education, including bystander intervention; coordinating ongoing training for campus police/law enforcement and all participants in the resolution process; and documentation of grant-related activities, including completion of performance reports.

What you'll do

Coordinate and manage grant-related activities

  • Administer the project through the planning (year 1) and implementation phases (years 2 and 3) of the grant
  • Coordinate the work of the Campus and Community Response Team (CCRT) to provide services and programs so the project achieves its goals
  • Collaborate with PSC Marketing personnel to develop and continuously update the project’s link on the College website; work with Dean of Student Experience to develop a description of the project for inclusion in PSC Student Handbook
  • Administer campus climate survey and share results with CCRT and PSC leaders
  • Implement all activities described in the approved grant application to achieve the goals and objectives of the grant
  • Collaborate with CCRT to make travel arrangements to trainings and assist with receipts, etc.

Facilitate the development and implementation of statutory and program requirements

  • Participate in all Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) required trainings and orientation program
  • Participate in Monthly Check-Ins with DOJ program officer, Cohort calls, virtual/on-site Technical Assistance visits and webinars
  • Work with the CCRT in year one to develop a strategic plan that will serve as the project’s roadmap to project implementation throughout the remainder of the grant period
  • Attend, along with members of CCRT, a total of five Training and Technical Assistance Institutes (TTIs) over the three-year project period (three in the first year, one institute in the second year, and one final institute in the third year of the award)
  • Register for and participate in Project Director’s Email Group and Private Grantee Web Portal
  • Travel to and attend in person, along with members of the CCRT, to DOJ-required trainings that are held nationwide, and meet in person with community program partners at their locations throughout the region.

Establish and strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance institutional response to address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking on campus

  • Serve on the PSC Cares Team, the WVU Prevention Services Committee, the PSC President’s Council, and in Student Experience staff meetings, and other committees and meetings as requested
  • Serve as the liaison between all partners per the signed External Memorandum of Understanding (EMOU) and the signed Internal Memorandum of Understanding (IMOU); meets in person or online with all partners at least twice per month
  • Write or assist in writing and applying for continued funding beyond year three is PSC chooses to pursue continued funding of the initiative

Coordinate comprehensive prevention education

  • Organize and chair CCRT meetings that are held throughout each program year
  • Plan and implement programs and trainings including bystander intervention
  • Develop training materials for students with disabilities and for students with English as second language
  • Tailor trainings to diverse populations
  • Coordinate trainings for students through PSC Athletic Director and coaches, WVUe101 through Academics, residence hall and commuter students through Student Experience and Residence Life, members of Student Organizations through Advisors, Resident Assistants through Housing
  • Coordinate ongoing training for campus police/law enforcement and all participants in the resolution process
  • Collaborate with WVU Diversity Equity and Inclusion, WellWVU, Student Conduct, Student Life and other WVU departments and personnel to administer WVU system-wide and individual campus programs relating to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking
  • Coordinate regular trainings for all PSC faculty, staff, and administrators to enhance institutional response to address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking

Documentation of grant-related activities, including completion of performance reports

  • Document and track all student and staff/faculty participation in and completion of training programs
  • Manage and monitor the project budget per WVU and US Department of Justice (DOJ) polices and regulations
  • Complete and submit award performance reports and financial reports by DOJ deadlines
  • Develop and submit all financial documents, including budget revisions, budget requests, per DOJ and WVU policies and procedures
  • Make all grant purchases and adhere to all WVU and DOJ spending policies
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience (a bachelor's degree and 2 years can substitute for a Master's).
  • 1 year of experience in higher education (preferred), grant management (preferred), facilitation and communication skills, and knowledge of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking, among others.
  • Must be able to use computer including Windows suite, Excel, PowerPoint, email, etc.
  • Must be able to develop grammatically correct and easy to understand documents
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and apply Federal regulations
  • Must be able to effectively work with and effectively communicate with persons from diverse backgrounds
  • Must be able to set priorities and to meet deadlines
  • The ability to use smart classroom equipment is preferred
