Posting Summary
The Program Coordinator provides administrative support for the MFA in Creative Writing and the Writers House Programs. Working under the direction of the Chair of English and Communications and the MFA Program Director, the incumbent plans and implements new programming and communications (including social media, online and print advertising, web site management and in-person presentations). Monitors spending and tracks grants expenditures for Writers House Program. Leads the development, organization, and overall strategy for ongoing Writers House Programs such as the Cooper Street Writers Program, Growing Great Writers Program. Researches, identifies and writes grants to support the activities of the MFA and Writers House programs. Provides administrative support for the MFA program to include course scheduling, admissions recruitment, and application management.
This position is partially grant-supported.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a fully remote work arrangement.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in an arts and sciences field required or an equivalent combination of education and/or experiences plus two years of experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, and planning.

Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires excellent computer skills; excellent oral and written communication; organizational skills; ability to multi-task under busy sometimes stressful office conditions; ability to deal with a variety of situations with discretion and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications
Some background and experience in some aspect of English, Writing and/or Grants Management is highly desirable. Administrative experience in an organization of comparable complexity is highly preferred.
