POSITION DESCRIPTION : Program Coordinator (FLIP)
Reports to: Chief Program Officer, Violence Prevention
FLSA Code: Full-time Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
The FLIP Coordinator works as part of the Violence Prevention team to ensure that each FLIP participant is connected to case coordination and street outreach. This role will coordinate meetings virtually or in-person to establish non-aggression agreements with the ultimate goal of establishing peace agreements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and comfortable using computer programs to track participant engagement
  • High-level interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with a diverse population
  • Ability to meet prescribed deadlines, collaborate as part of a team and respond well to supervisor direction and follow up
  • Ability and commitment to maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills including the ability to anticipate workload and effectively cultivate and leverage relationships with colleagues to meet deadlines
  • Ability to understand and follow safety/security practices and work in high-pressure situations
  • Maintains a passionate commitment to social justice, equity, and violence reduction in the City of Chicago
  • Possess a strong sense of compassion and patience for serving an underserved population
  • Must have a valid driver's license and insurance and the ability to be present and monitor all (8) flip hot spots.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • In collaboration with supervisors and program manager, assist with day-to-day FLIP program flow, including overseeing the daily participant sign-in/sign-out process and ensuring sign-in/sign-out sheets are submitted to appropriate supervisors daily.
  • Attend data matching sessions with N3.
  • Review sign-in/out documentation for any discrepancies, identify participants who regularly arrive tardy, and work with outreach leadership to address issues of tardiness
  • Assist with participant stipend process and troubleshoot unique situations as they arise.
  • Monitor and ensure Flip participants attend all internal and external job-training programs.
  • Maintain an up-to-date FLIP participant list for each participating community.
  • Regularly visit the designated community areas in order to complete assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate with outreach leadership in order to stay abreast of FLIP program schedule changes and make sure those changes are shared, documented, and accounted for in participant attendance.
  • Participate in case review meetings and assist with documentation tracking participant progress
  • Help ensure a warm hand-off of participants from the FLIP program to other program areas by keeping accurate records of participant status, reviewing case notes and following up with staff as needed.
  • Regularly review FLIP program participants in the online data collection system to ensure that all necessary fields are completed and that regular data accurately reflects day-to-day program functions and outcomes.
  • Coordinate trainings for FLIP program participants with partner organizations.
  • Prioritize work according to need, determine workflow problems, and work with supervisor to develop solutions
  • Assist with other projects as assigned

  • The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Safety Requirements:
Prior to the first day of work, must complete a criminal background and sex offender clearance.
Equipment Used:
Employees will generally use general office equipment including but not limited to telephone, computer, calculator, copier, paper shredder, paper cutter, and filing systems, radio equipment.
