OVERVIEW

The Program Coordinator of Education works with and under the direction of the Director of Field Office to support comprehensive programs intended to engage a diverse population of learners – both youth and adult- and enrich the experience of those working and supporting the program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and schedule activities in accordance with specifications and funding limitations;
  • Proactively recruit and select program participants, members, and volunteers using appropriate promotional or marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures or presentations at meetings;
  • Work cooperatively with other component coordinators to plan education services integrated with health, employment, parental involvement, youth services, and social services;
  • Develop curriculum, lesson plans, and materials for all age groups;
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback on progress as needed;
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date attendance records;
  • Assess program participants;
  • Evaluate program effectiveness to develop improved methods;
  • Assure that files and documentation are complete, accurate, and confidentially maintained; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a focus in early childhood education or child development is preferred;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to organize, prioritize and work independently as well as in collaboration with others is required;
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel and database programs;
  • Good sense of humor and pleasant, diplomatic manner is desired; and
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission of USCRI and interest in growing in a nonprofit development department long-term.

TRAINING REQUIRMENTS

  • Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training; and
  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisor(s) or Human Resources

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands; and
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
