ASRC Federal AFSS is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking a Program and Project Business Practices Analyst to support a NASA contract in Hampton, VA.

Job Summary:
Serve as a subject matter expert to support the NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) Safety and Mission Assurance Office (SMAO)’s assessment of business practices for complex and critical projects. This team members will assist to ensure that Langley programs and projects designated as complex and critical are executed in accordance with LaRC best practices, NASA policies and requirements, and that they are AS 9100 compliant.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure successful planning, implementation, and completion of projects and programs to achieve mission goals and that they are performed in a manner to meet the intent of AS9100.
  • Assess project planning and execution, review LaRC business practices.
  • Provide editing support and consultation for the development of presentations and processes, which will be used to educate project/program personnel on LaRC business practices with a focus on AS9100.
  • Utilize the government provided process to complete at least six assessments annually, managing both the draft report and final submission.
  • Implement and track corrective actions utilizing the LaRC provided action tracking system.
  • Complete an annual assessment process and plan as well as an annual summary report.
  • Develop training materials to support employees in performing their work in accordance with business practices.
  • Work with the branch head for the LaRC Mission Assurance Branch (MAB) to develop a fiscal year plan annually, focused on the roles of project/program manager and the members of the project team. Presentations for the plan are to be developed, updated, and presented quarterly.
  • Knowledge of NPR 7120.5, ISO 9001 / AS 9100 designation, and LaRC business practices.
  • Trained as an Internal Auditor by an International Accreditation Foundation (IAF) organization that is recognized by the United States ISO 9001 / AS 9100 registration body.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and ten years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
