About Houston-Galveston Area Council
The Houston-Galveston Area Council is one of the largest regional planning commissions in the country with a diverse service area of 13 counties and more than 7 million people. We are the pulse of our region addressing issues that cross city limits and county lines every single day.

What will I be doing?

• Assist with the planning and development of new and existing large-scale projects
• Manage multiple projects related to training and professional development
• Develop action plans to streamline processes and achieve expected outcomes in a timely manner
• Ensure programs and services are delivered in accordance with the Workforce Board’s directive and compliant with all federal, state and local laws and regulations
• Supervise diverse team of individuals
• Strategically adjust work load amongst team members
• Effectively communicate unit and project status

Key Qualifications

• Experienced in Project Management Principles and proven ability to handle large-scale projects from inception to completion, and anywhere in between
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively handle multiple competing deadlines
• Skill in allocating scarce resources, including human capital
• Effective leadership, motivation, and teamwork skills
• Problem solving capabilities

Do you have…

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
• 5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties

Pay: $76,126.00 - $142,052.00 per year
