Position Description: The Professional Tutors support students in group tutoring sessions and 1-1 appointments for the course(s) for which they are hired. Tutors guide students in understanding their assignments and sources to organize their thoughts and develop arguments. They also guide students in learning and practicing how to use academic English and cite sources.

We are currently seeking a tutor to support graduate-level writing across various disciplines.

Hours: Tutors generally work 3-10 hours a week depending on their availability and the coverage needed by CAE.. Days and times vary based on the tutor's and students' schedule. The CAE is open Monday to Thursday 9am-8pm and Friday from 9am to 5pm. All new tutors will attend a paid 8-hour pre-semester training and 2.5 hours of professional development meetings a month.

Desired Start Date: Spring 2023, pre-semester training will be scheduled when you accept the offer


Job Requirements:

  • Candidates should be in progress toward or have earned a Master's Degree or higher in any field, have demonstrated excellent in the graduate-level writing and been a strong student overall
  • We also value candidates who are clear communicators, empathetic, adaptable, and have a growth mindset.

Compensation:
Compensation for tutors is $18 per hour worked.
