Position Description

General Overview:

Reporting to the CEO of the Northeast Multistate Division Services Corporation (NEMSD) & in collaboration with Accredited Approver & Provider Program Director the Professional Development Director is responsible for the overall nonclinical administrative and operational components of the NEMSD Education Unit. The Professional Development Director will ensure compliance with the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) Accreditation Program criteria in the provision of CNE (Continuing Nursing Education).


Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides oversight of the day-to-day operations of the NEMSD Education Unit
  • Collaborates with the Professional Development Associate & The Accredited Approver & Provider Program Director to achieve programmatic outcomes
  • Ensures adherence to ANCC accreditation program criteria
  • Coordinates the renewal processes to maintain the Approver & Provider Units
  • Assists with recruiting, on boarding and orientation of new Nurse Peer Reviewers & new employees
  • Reviews & updates the policies & procedures of the Education Unit
  • Communicates & implements changes in ANCC program criteria to staff and customers
  • Creates & manages the budget and fees and expenditures associated with the education unit
  • Provides appropriate periodic reports to the CEO, BOD, NPRL & ANCC
  • Collects & collates pertinent demographic & educational data on all education unit business
  • Maintains all records according to the ANCC Accreditation Program requirements
  • Serves as a member of the NEMSD education committee
  • Supports Board of Directors Committees
  • Assists applicants, nurse planners on CE Unit processes & procedures
  • Manages the onboarding & orientation of staff to appropriate IT systems (Zoom, Office 365, Jot Forms, Adobe etc.)
  • Serves as the primary contact person for the NEMSD website
  • Prepares monthly financial reports & maintains appropriate tax documents

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree as well as solid administrative and supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of the ANCC Program criteria desirable
  • Strong project management skills
  • Conference & meeting planning experience preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong financial and systems analysis skills for the planning, design, and implementation of program work
  • Advanced computer literacy and proficiency in data base management
  • Proven organizational and project management skills. The ability to independently prioritize work appropriately and to manage competing demands and deadlines simultaneously
  • A prominent level of creativity and motivation to develop new strategies and approaches to problems
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills-written, verbal, and graphic
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with confidential and sensitive personnel issues
  • Exceptional judgment, discretion, and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

Working Conditions:

  • This position is primarily remote with an ability to attend occasional meetings or in person conferences

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct supervision of project support staff.
