Summary:

Shift: 6PM-6AM (will train on days)

As a Production Team member, you will be part of a team-oriented environment, where safety is our priority. Each Team Member will have engagement in safety and quality to help ensure the safety of our employees and deliver the best possible quality to our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• The employee is responsible to maintain the equipment in good operating condition. This includes the completion of the Operators Basic Care at the start of each shift.
• Operation of mill machines.
• Production and time entry in MESA computer system.
• Understand and adhere to Job Instructions Breakdown (JIB) for operation within their scope of duty.
• Ensure autonomous maintenance of equipment used and housekeeping.
• Reads production Schedule / Dispatch to determine processing sequence.
• Set-up Payoff block and Rewind Block.
• Places coil on Payoff Block and center.
• Set-up Arbor.
• Check and adjust slit width, edges, and gauges; check camber, add or remove spacers.
• Verifies Process Instructions using Process master.
• Check width of the master coil size prior to set-up.
• Checks scale accuracy and calibration.
• Position knives and check width, ensure fingers are supporting the set-up.
• Loads coils on entry conveyor, inspect metal level arbors.
• Feeds metal through knives. Check slit edges for ripples, waves, flared, or rolled edges.
• Checks width of each strip to ensure it meets tolerances, re-adjust set-up as necessary.
• Makes adjustments as coil is running. Applies polish oil if necessary.
• Remove coils from arbor and place on pallets / racks.
• Actively work as a team member, giving feedback on operating and quality practices to their team and supervision.
• Operate Crane/Forklift to move coils in preparation for transfer to the next process.
• Perform Safety Observations; provide feedback of production or safety issues on machine.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• High School Diploma/ GED

Special Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, will be regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
• May be exposed to wet or humid conditions.
• May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
• May be regularly exposed to high noise environments.
• May be exposed to extremely dusty environments
• Must be willing to enhance and learn new skill sets.
• Actively participate in safety initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.40 - $24.95 per hour
