Flowserve is looking for a Production Supervisor at our manufacturing facility in Taneytown, MD. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day to day activities on the machine shop floor and direct management of the skilled labor team. This role will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure the right resources are in place, enabling the team to meet production goals with a focus on quality, safety, and on-time performance. The Machine Shop Production Supervisor will work closely with individual associates and team leads to develop training plans to aid in the growth and development of the team. In addition, this role will be responsible for maintaining a work schedule for all associates on the team to ensure resources are available to meet customer needs. The Production Supervisor will report directly to the Operations Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises staff and workflow in order to execute daily production plans and capable of communicating production schedule to key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate Continuous improvement to reduce cost of quality, lead times and production delay opportunities by providing performance-related information to the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Tracks and measures key operational metrics and identifies inefficiencies to ensure a safe and efficient workspace
  • Maintains quality services by enforcing product standards and ensuring equipment remains operational by performing regularly scheduled maintenance and calling for repairs when necessary.
  • Lead corrective action requests and take initiatives outside direct area of responsibility to drive quality improvements in the organization.
  • Maintains a safe, clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the proper use of equipment and resources and aligning to established safety policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit and promote Flowserve’s behaviors to coordinate and interface with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Engineering, and customers as necessary, toward an environment that encourages teambuilding, decision-making, problem solving.

  • Train, develop and motivate the shop personnel to drive accountability and ownership, instill pride in work, respect, and sense of belonging in the workplace as well as insuring team members are cross trained within the different functions of their department.
  • Resolves personnel issues by analyzing data, investigating the issues and reporting recommended actions to the Manufacturing Manager.
  • On occasion may require working alternate shift

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years industrial manufacturing experience
  • Experience scheduling, planning and executing multiple jobs simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate in both written and spoken English.
  • Proven people management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret design prints and machining drawings
  • High Mechanical Aptitude with experience in Machining and Assembly Operations.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft office applications.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiar with EPA and OSHA regulations.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience (Manager, Supervisor, Shop Lead, etc.…)
  • Six Sigma / Lean manufacturing training / certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Business or Technical).
