JOB TITLE: Production Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Production Manager

SUMMARY: Directs the scheduling and activities of department personnel involved in the production of various products and ensures that all company policies and procedures are followed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises all production activities performed by dept crew; maintains a high degree of visibility and access to employees on warehouse floor throughout the shift.
• Establishes and maintains department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
• Reviews, prioritizes, and organizes all orders to be produced during the shift.
• Schedules equipment maintenance as required in breakdown situations.
• Manages all receiving and shipping office paper flow.
• Forecasts staffing needs to meet peak demands of the business.
• Coordinates with the production manager to manage personnel issues including but not limited to vacation approvals, timecard approval, daily and weekly overtime, hiring, and training.
• Leads crew by example by producing various items and/or performing other duties as necessary.
• Prepares required reports and correspondence (e.g. production reporting).
• Assists production manager with development and implementation of policies and procedures; ensures all established policies and procedures are followed by crew.
• Assists with inventory activities; supervises inventory control process including but not limited to monthly inventory counts.
• Oversees the cleanup activities performed in the warehouse daily.
• Maintains safety programs and all required safety training for the crew.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two to four years of production department supervision experience within a manufacturing environment is required.
• Bilingual in Spanish is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelors' degree in related area is preferred.
• Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Strong inventory control skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations best practices.
• Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g.,Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
• Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.
• Ability to perform the physical labor necessary.
• Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds
• Continually required to stand
• Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
• Continually required to talk or hear
• Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
• Continually work near moving mechanical parts
• Frequent exposure to loud noise
