Production Scheduler/Production Planner

General description/ Summary:

The Production Scheduler/Production Planner is responsible to create and maintain effective daily and weekly production schedules in order to ensure that all company goals are achieved and that deadlines are met.

On-time deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction is critical and will be driven by the Production Scheduler/Production Planner.

Holds self accountable for adherence to standards, policies & regulations, and support the General Manager in the overall Change Management Process.

In addition, we require:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent from two-year college, university, or technical school in business administration, production, supply chain or another related field; Bachelor’s Degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 3-years practical work experience in a manufacturing environment supporting planning and scheduling operations
  • Technical Understanding in order to develop a strong understanding of the production processes
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, PowerPoint, MS Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and analytical/math skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly to resolve issues and set priorities for the production team
  • Candidate’s ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to multitask and provide quick responses to production problems
  • High level of leadership qualities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review customer releases and create and maintain efficient weekly production schedules for all coating lines and the pre-treatment departments
  • Maintain daily communication with all customers and ensure high customer order completion
  • Inventory Management: Track incoming and outgoing material and perform physical inventories on a weekly basis
  • Coordinate with production operations, engineering, maintenance, and other departments in the accomplishment of production goals, production plan changes and priorities
  • Responsibility to handle ASN’s for outgoing and incoming material
  • Create shipping documents
  • Analyze customer forecasts and capacity needed and communicate constraints to the General Manager
  • Drive for continuous improvement within the Scheduling Department
  • Lead implementation of Production Scheduling Software
  • Meet/exceed scheduling goals as set forth by Management
  • Participate in Customer Visits as required
  • Support production if needed
  • Support General Manager and Team in overall Change Management Process
  • Other duties as assigned by General Manager
  • Must be willing to work off shifts and periodic overtime

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
