Job Description:

A new role at Talan Products, the Production Scheduler will sit at the intersection of customer service, supply chain, and production to help our team create solid production plans and facilitate their execution in our ERP system. The Production Scheduler role will be a vital team member to the day-to-day operation and will also have the opportunity to be a part of the teams implementing the advancements that we’re making in our processes and systems over the next few years.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review and clarify inputs to the schedule and collaborate to meet customer requests and needs
  • Creates the work orders and collaborates with the Plant Manager and production team to effectively lay out and communicate the production plan
  • Coordinates the production plans for approximately 200 products (~100 tools) across 25 assets and some outside processing partners, supported by a team with deep technical experience that will help wherever needed!
  • Monitors and follows-up on the production processes to update the schedule and communicate opportunities and issues
  • Works closely with our shipping and purchasing teams to coordinate outside services/vendors for a limited number of products that require them prior to shipping to the customer
  • Suggest process improvement ideas wherever possible to management team members
  • Close work orders when complete and work with the materials/inventory team members to ensure accurate labor and material reporting
  • Identify any data accuracy issues with production rates, inventory, planning parameters, etc. to be corrected to simplify and improve scheduling going forward

Requirements for role:

  • ERP system experience and/or digital literacy strengths to be able to learn and navigate our systems efficiently and effectively

o We run Visual Manufacturing by Infor, so any experience in that specific platform is a benefit but not necessarily required

  • Microsoft Excel skills – including formatting, formulas, etc. are needed (vlookups, pivot tables, charting, etc. are a plus)
  • Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to connect with all levels of the organization (production operator, supervisor, management, executive team)
  • A passion for manufacturing! We are a stamping operation at our core, and also execute really interesting processes around extrusion fabrication, automation/robotics, welding, etc.
  • Past experience as a production scheduler, master scheduler, production supervisor, manufacturing engineer, buyer/planner, customer service, or other similar roles preferred. Ambition to be involved with customer interactions, management team presentations, etc. is welcomed. 4-8 years experience is preferred for this role to ensure that the candidate can be explicitly successful and develop further.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
