The mission of the Production Quality Coordinator is to help develop process improvement initiatives in both Parts Quality and LEAN Manufacturing Production through continual improvements in safety, productivity and quality processes

Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for supporting LEAN Manufacturing by elevating Production and Part Quality inspection to an elite level and reducing in-line defects by 50%. We will achieve this through focusing on Part Quality before the production line and focusing on increasing machine Product Quality through every step of the assembly process.
• Continually demonstrate a high level of initiative and problem solving ability. Objective decision making and strong root cause problem solving skills are essential.
• Responsible for internal and external defect identification and prevention by identifying problems, analyzing the root cause, examining solution options, implementing corrective action plans, and providing additional resources. This can be achieved through a variety of means including overseeing and assisting in investigations of reportable quality events, internal and external customer complaints, and revising metrics and reporting. You must ensure that responses are accurate, unbiased, and complete, as well as following up that immediate, short-term, and long term corrective actions are implemented. You may be required to lead follow up investigation of QC problems, as needed.
• Responsible for defect identification and prevention through in process audits (Blue Tag, Green Tag, etc)
• Ensure any non-conforming product is properly identified and assist with making decisions on disposition. Actively participate and take responsibility for components reviewed daily in a Material Review Committee. This includes coordinating with the Quality Engineers, Quality Technicians, Supplier Development Team, Production, Sourcing, Engineering, Warehousing, and any other departments as required.
• Will be responsible for assisting in developing, preparing, and updating Production Quality inspection plans and training material to include instructions, visual aids, and tooling development using different methodologies and QA Tools (TQM, FME, DOE, SPC, and Risk analysis) to ensure top quality parts and products
• Actively document and report any rework/non-value added tasks that occur on the floor. This includes documentation, taking measurements, taking pictures, marking up prints, submitting engineering change documentation, writing and tracking deviations, approving the rework,documenting labor recovery, and ensuring that all invested departments are notified and the appropriate actions are taken.
• May specialize in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application.
• Using your experience and expertise you may be required to define and create tooling, fixturing, and equipment needs to increase efficiency of inspections. Work with the internal organization and suppliers to come up with proposals to further improve quality or efficiency to produce high quality parts.
• Ability to manage multi- tasks and deal with several issues simultaneously, through prioritization, delegation, and “hands-on” personal effort in a transitioning and continually improving environment.

Experience Requirements:

• 5 or more years of experience in quality or equivalent experience with proven record of successful quality leadership in a manufacturing environment.
• Degree preferred, but not required. Comparable industrial experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience preferred
• Solid background and understanding of manufacturing processes in large equipment or automotive industry
• Ability to understand and interpret hydraulic, electrical and mechanical drawings and data - schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, mechanical part drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs
• Strong troubleshooting skills utilizing primary problem-solving techniques (i.e. Pareto Charts, Fishbone Diagrams).
• Strong organizational, project management and communication skills and the ability to perform varied tasks in a disciplined, consistent manner.
• CMM/Romer arm experience/understanding preferred
