Tescor is looking for someone to join our Production team. The Production Manager is responsible for optimizing the planning, organizing and Production to ensure that Quality Products are Safely and Profitability Produced, On Time and Within Budget using 5S and lean methodologies. This includes responsibility for the lay out and installation of mechanical, refrigeration and electrical components that are used in custom refrigeration systems and other process fluid loops for walk-in freezers, environmental rooms, automotive test benches, calorimeters and other equipment primarily for the OEM automotive and HVAC testing markets.
This person will be skilled in the fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting of components that go into the mechanical assemblies for the above equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean, safe and injury-free work environment by ensuring all employees are trained, understand and follow health and safety procedures
  • Ensure production produces a quality product on or before the production schedule due date and within budget
  • Meet the scheduled ship dates by breaking down jobs into tasks and subtasks with expected performance goals and expected deadlines that will allow the schedule to be completed on time and within budget. These expected goals and deadlines create the expectations for the Team Leaders as to what needs to be accomplished and by when
  • Set daily expectations to be accomplished for individual production team members by creating tasks and subtasks with expected performance goals
  • Willing to promote and support change
  • Analyze production performance, identify opportunities, make recommendations for process and equipment improvement, establish, and execute goals
  • Implement standard operating procedures and continuous improvement programs
  • Review employee performance and identify training needs as well as provide constructive feedback to improve their performance
  • Reads and comprehends process flow schematics as well as engineering drawings for mechanical, refrigeration and electrical designs
  • Works with production, engineering and purchasing teams to ensure system specifications are met
  • Provide direct oversight of employees, approve time records, communicate, and implement company policy, oversee the hiring, training, promotions, and performance evaluation of employees
  • Understand business financials a plus
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree or 10 years relevant experience in the industry
  • Strong listening, evaluating, and problem -solving skills
  • Ability to create alternate solutions to meet deadlines
  • Great organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects/tasks concurrently.
  • Previous experience in coaching, training, teambuilding, performance development, and conflict resolutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead and communicate with production team and management
  • Knowledge of 5S and Lean Methodologies

Other:
  • This position is located in a manufacturing environment and will involve hands-on work with tools and testing equipment. Physical activity will include lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
