Position: Event Production Manager

Job Description:

We are searching for an experienced production manager who will manage the general operations of our venues and events. They will have the support of a team but will be expected to be hands on when carrying out objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain and safeguard the technical assets of the venues, including supervising the use of lighting, sound and communications equipment.
  • Determine necessary technical supports, such as lighting, sound, staging, and special needs, necessary for events, activations, & other productions produced and coordinate with internal counterparts and external clients and vendors.
  • Operate lighting and sound system productions and projects; manage external production vendors/agencies on all production-related elements and technical matters.
  • Manage and motivate a team at assigned venue.
  • Create and manage work schedules of the team.
  • Ensure proper handling of equipment and materials coming to and leaving our venues.
  • Oversee and ensure that all operations comply with safety regulations.
  • With with the Custodial Manager to maintain the aesthetics and cleanliness of the venues.
  • Source service, equipment and materials to support regular operations and special event needs.
  • Supervise contracted staff hired for specific events.
  • Facilitate tenting, staging, electric distro, audio, etc. needed for special events.
  • Perform regular inspections of electric and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot in the event of electric and/or mechanical failure.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years’ experience in technical production, preferably within a production house/studio, or at a special event venue.
  • Prior experience, knowledge, and expertise working in hospitality, entertainment, and special events.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all operational levels of the organization as well as with suppliers and customers, exercising appropriate tact and diplomacy to accomplish objectives.
  • Energetic and creative thinker with high business ethics and standards, as well as an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Versatile, detail-oriented and organized workmanship.
  • Works with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Has the ability to manage a dynamic and ever-changing workflow.
  • Self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $65,000.00 per year
