Job Summary:
Under direct supervisor, when Quality control Inspector role is applicable, will serve as the back-up to Quality Control Inspectors and performs quality inspection duties such as executing pre-defined visual tests when QC Inspectors are unavailable. Assists in various departments, performing various tasks including general cleaning, making boxes and simple activities to each department. Has detailed knowledge of work area and processes to be able to help monitor and assist in operations. Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), BDG policies and procedures and safety procedures while performing duties.
Job Description:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs a variety of Labor functions that may include any or all of the following:
- Material handling functions, including but not limited to, forming and lining of containers, packing WIP and finished goods into containers, palletizing of product, and manual cut-in of raw materials as required.
- Performs general clean-up, and minor sanitation duties (i.e sweeping, shoveling of spilled product, general cleaning of equipment and area) as required.
- Handles material of various weights and dimensions.
- Meets output standards, schedules, and deadlines designated by production standards and the Department Manager.
- Draws random samples from production lines to perform a variety of predetermined tests.
- Ensures product quality standards are clearly defined and that the finished product quality attributes are within specification.
- Performs final test for foreign material, rejects, concealed damage and insects, logging type and amount found.
- Conducts moisture analysis and records the test results on data sheets; enters results into corporate Quality Assurance computer program (SPC) and notifies appropriate supervision if test results do not meet specification as needed.
- Follows HACCP procedures and auditing procedures.
- Collects samples for specific customer’s in-line and exiting Inventory for lab analyses.
- Calibrates and assists in maintenance of inspection instruments.

- Must be able to communicate with MFG Department Manager and Team Leaders
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with others.
- Ability to pass on correct instructions from Manager/Lead to other Inspectors and Inventory personnel. The position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Overtime as necessary is a requirement to the performance of this position.
- The position may require the ability to work in noisy areas and exposure to heat, cold and dust.
- May work in traffic areas.
- Must wear personal protection equipment while working.
