Haakon Industries is a rapidly expanding, client-focused, manufacturer of custom air handling equipment. Our equipment is used in hospitals, pharmaceutical laboratories, microchip manufacturers, universities, automotive manufacturing plants, and countless other institutional, industries, and commercial facilities. We strive for excellence by continuing to invest in our facilities, our product and our people.

Haakon Industries currently has 3 manufacturing facilities; one in Kingston, ON, Canada and one in Cheney, WA, USA and our newest facility which opened in September of 2021.

We are looking for production engineers to be a part of the team to start up and manage our newest facility.

The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills, along with well developed interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Working as a Production Engineer it is important that you are capable of effectively managing changing priorities, are self motivated and thrive in an extremely fast paced environment. You must understand lean manufacturing principals, have a high level of mechanical aptitude, be a strong proponent of continuous change and enjoy spending time on the production floor, this is a very hands on engineering position.

Qualifications;
  • Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Chemical Engineering
Some of the responsibilities include;
  • Continuous process design, improvement and analysis
  • Project management
  • Product testing including; fan vibration, airflow, unit casing leakage and deflection and sound
  • Liaison between design engineering and production
  • Quality Control
  • Development and design; programming and testing of new parts
  • Trouble shooting throughout fabrication process
  • Serving as a technical resource to production staff, customers and sales
We offer an extensive one year training program that will include training and exposure to fabrication and electrical design, applications engineering at our corporate office (located in Richmond, BC) and production engineering training in Cheney, WA or Kingston, ON, Canada.

Training in Richmond BC requires that you be willing and able to travel internationally.
