The Fuel and Motion Control Division of Eaton’s Aerospace Group is looking for a Product Support/Reliability Engineer to join the team. This position is based at our Euclid, Ohio location.


Position Overview:


The Product Support/Reliability Engineer is responsible for performing investigations of Eaton product returned from field service to determine cause of failure and the liability of warranty claims, and reporting results. In addition, performs product investigations in support of larger customer and regulatory investigations and supports efforts to identify product improvements and commercial opportunities.


The Euclid facility has approximately 300 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of aerospace main engine fuel pumps and components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

In this function, you will:


  • Coordinate root cause investigations for field-returned product including reporting results to customers (to include FAA/ NTSB-driven investigations); to include working with Materials Lab for identification of abnormal debris and for more detailed analysis of failed components as needed; to include management of Product Investigation database.
  • Coordinate evaluations to provide Product Engineering with product degradation data (collect as-rec’d and OEM ATPs at intervals: 10K, 15K, 20K, 25K hours, etc.)
  • Communicate with Product Support persons at customers (weekly or ad hoc meetings) for current investigations.
  • Analyze MRO shop visit data for reliability per customer requirements on monthly, quarterly, or annual basis; submit reports to customers; oversee Pune data analysis; support internal and external customers with data for product improvement projects.
  • Report trends to Product Design function for product improvement. (Feedback loop to engineering re: design issues).
  • Submit product improvement projects based on trends to “Mods, Upgrades, and Retrofits Team”. (Twice monthly team sessions).
  • Support MRO with technical advice as requested; support MRO in data needed for field action Service Bulletins (affected populations).
  • Participate in Engineering Design Change development and Customer Reviews (internal and with customer) to ensure design robustness.
  • Review and sign-off Test Procedure Changes, Qualification Procedure changes.
  • Support Customer Service with Warranty determination when it can be made without involvement of Warranty decision maker.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:


  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering from an accredited school
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a quality, engineering, or reliability position.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Must be legally able to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation will be offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 50-mile radius of the Euclid, OH facility will be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Working Knowledge of drawings and specifications interpretation
  • Working knowledge in functional measuring equipment usage
  • Aerospace experience
  • Working knowledge of Reliability principles including MTBF, Weibull and basic reliability analyses
