SUMMARY

Guardian Couplings is in search of a Product Specialist to help retain and expand business opportunities within a specified product line. The Product Specialist is expected to drive revenue growth through new and existing customers and distributors. The Product Specialist will also be expected to work with and provide guidance to the internal engineering and customer service teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth through new and existing customers and distributors.
  • Collaborate with sales team to develop opportunities to improve sales performance.
  • Quote Follow-Up - build relationships with customers to secure the business.
  • Take the lead in major OEM accounts and distributors to drive the business of assigned product line.
  • Drive key account management in the assigned / defined key accounts.
  • Act as the technical escalation pathway for products in their area of responsibility (SME-Subject Matter Expert)
  • Track and analyze the sales performance of the products within their responsibility and define targeted action plans together with the Product Manager and General Manager to increase brand presence into new and existing OEM accounts.
  • Regular participation, trade show presence, demonstration and other customer and market related activities.
  • Act as a technical sales coach for our sales organization for products within area of responsibility.
  • Operate as the SME for critical presentations or local sales activities
  • Aid in creation of technical drawings (Solidworks) as required.
  • Work in collaboration with planning, procurement, and production to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Business Travel as required (10%).

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of sales and/or account management experience preferably in the selling of Power Transmission components.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of applications in Power Transmission industry.
  • Demonstrated drive and success to successfully achieve revenue targets, grow market share
  • Demonstrated success to alter customer specifications to include their products,
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong sales background in new business development.
  • Working knowledge of computers including common business application software; i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, etc.
  • Experience with using CRM software (SAP or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of Solidworks and/or 3D modeling/CAD is preferred, but not required.
