Product Scheduling Manager

JOB SUMMARY

In this role, you will supervise a team of professional schedulers across numerous commodities including natural gas, crude, and NGLs and basins, including Marcellus, Mid-Continent, and Permian. Serves as a facilitator of scheduling information between the scheduling team, the front line leaders, and business unit leaders to ensure that well-informed, proactive resource decisions can be made by business leaders and issues can be resolved. Participates in recruiting and retention efforts and provides leadership, support, and training to the scheduling team and key partners. Oversee and nominate gas for all assets including Marcellus, Mid-Continent, and Permian on applicable EBB’s. Track all volumes daily. Works with customers to resolve questions and issues. Works closely with Business Unit leaders to generate volume forecasts and work with Manager, Gas Trading to optimize gas available to sell. Track all gathering and downstream maintenance and communicate as needed with appropriate parties. Plan optimal delivery of all commodities during periods of downtime and maintenance. Assists with monthly accrual through inputting volumes in internal database.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a team of 3-4 Schedulers
  • Arrange and nominate the receipt and delivery of natural gas, Crude, and NGLs in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Manage and oversee the generation of spot, monthly, and term sales forecasts based on production targets and goals. Engage with team to regularly evaluate market conditions and make sound sales recommendations based on market intelligence and anticipated pricing and production environments
  • Attend Operations Meetings to understand upcoming drilling and TIL’s. Leverage knowledge of operations and facilities to generate daily and short-term sales forecasts. Coordinate gas sales information with customers, Trading, & Contract Administrators
  • Monitor gathering system and downstream maintenance calendars. Coordinate maintenance events and unscheduled interruptions with Operations, gathering system operator, Traders, and downstream pipes to mitigate impacts and optimize production
  • Engage with department members to understand any factors that affect targets (i.e. maintenance, downstream events, market disruption, etc.) and strive to mitigate. Establish plans and protocols as available to minimize value/volume impacts prior to such events
  • Analyze forecast compared to any existing pipeline imbalances to be carried forward and any other factors to determine the amount of gas available to sell. Track production and adjust natural gas sales targets and nominations throughout the month. Maintain minimum pipeline imbalances through coordination of payback and other means
  • Communicate to Trading available daily gas for sale. Assist with daily optimization of directing natural gas to the best market. Work with downstream partners to manage the successful delivery of our gas to market
  • Provide marketing options and contract support to the Exploration and Operations Teams. Maintain ongoing communication with Gas Control for directing gas path
  • Enter and manage nominations on a daily and monthly basis in respective Electronic Bulletin Boards. Monitor cuts and rectify with customers and traders. Monitor maintenance events and mitigate with customers and traders
  • Oversee accurate and timely posting of capacity releases
  • Monitor force majeure events on both gathering system and downstream pipelines. Notify necessary parties and work with Operations, Gathering System Operator, Trading, and customers to resolve via most economic means available
  • Obtain and verify end of month scheduled volumes and imbalances. Input end of month scheduled volumes into database for Accounting accrual/close. Work closely with customers and Accounting to resolve volume discrepancies
  • Conduct detailed analysis of market dynamics and macro trends. Prepare various presentations for customer meetings, internal and senior management meetings, and industry conferences
  • Work closely with trading and marketing teams to help optimize flows on a daily basis
  • Assist in economic analysis for special projects for Marketing/Executive team. Assist in developing slides for each quarterly meeting. Maintain and distribute various data and reports to assorted Coterra personnel
  • Provide backup for other Volume Controllers as needed
  • Track the movement of all physical sales and maintain systems showing the contractual movements of gas and imbalances
  • Track pipeline tariff costs and review all logistics invoices
  • Identify incremental capacity and supply availability which may be acquired by the company in a cost effective and profitable manner
  • Actively review the efficiency of the nomination and accounting activities to ensure that those functions are run optimally
  • Review and approve new pipeline and transportation contracts
  • Hire, develop and manage employees to create a high performing workforce to meet the organization’s present and future needs. Provide employee feedback and manage performance issues as necessary. Create and maintain training for schedulers, work coordinators and key partners
  • Manage and maintain good working relationships with customers, exchange partners, suppliers and third party companies and work with traders and schedulers to optimize commodity movement
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationship within department and with other departments, acting as primary liaison between refinery, traders, optimization and customer service
  • Manage and oversee all crude oil movements, working with other departments to facilitate timely product and invoicing of that crude oil
  • Monitor daily crude oil movements and inventory positions and communicate with appropriate departments
  • Manage and oversee all NGL movements, working with other departments to facilitate timely nomination and invoicing of NGL’s
  • Monitor and adjust NGL nominations as needed to ensure minimal imbalances are maintained

  • A minimum of 10 years of North American logistics experience, ideally covering numerous commodities and basins
  • A minimum of 5 years as a team leader
  • Commercially aware and able to make rapid and accurate decisions
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and manage a demanding workload effectively to ensure deadlines are met
  • Self-motivated and with good interpersonal skills and able to work under pressure and adhere to strict timelines
  • Bachelor's degree, solid written/spoken communication skills in English and able to engage at all levels

Preferred: Bachelor’s and 7 years of Oil & Gas Scheduling experience. Familiarity with Northeast pipelines including Transco Pipeline, Tennessee Gas Pipeline, Millennium Pipeline in particular. Familiarity with Mid-Continent pipelines including Oneok Gas Transmission, Enable, Southern Star. Familiarity with Permian processing facilities and pipeline including MarkWest, Energy Transfer, Enterprise, Eagle Claw, Vaquero, Agua Blanca, Whistler.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND

Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
