Job Description

As the MoW (Maintenance of Way) Product Manager, you will be the leader for Plasser American’s North American machine portfolio. This position needs to understand the MoW market, the customer needs and help create a portfolio which meets their needs and cultivates Plasser American business. They will lead product roadmap creation, pricing, margins and functional specifications for the portfolio. As the subject matter expert, they will lead customer activities including projects, sales quotes and customer engagements.

The Product Manager will work with the VP of Products and Technology and Chief Engineer to architect new platforms, new vehicles and aftermarket upgrades. Our vision is that this leader can significantly help PAC transform the North American rail market and help continue the growth that we are already experiencing.

Location: As Plasser American has just built a brand-new state of the art office building in Chesapeake, Virginia, we prefer that the individual join the team in this location. There is a possibility that PAC may allow for alternative working arrangements.

Position Summary:

• Defines and creates roadmaps for current and future machine platforms
• Understands and communicates customer needs to both internal and external consumers
• Defines the current competitive environment
• Works with Sales, Engineering, and Commercial Operations to get new functionality into machine specifications and quotes
• Help define and standardize commonality between machine platforms
• Assists Sales as the subject matter expert for the machine portfolio
• Works with customers and engineering to create innovative solutions to advance the railroad industry

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; a minimum of ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Applicable Technical Competencies: Incumbent must demonstrate a working knowledge in some or all of the following:

Product Management

MoW experience or working knowledge

Railroad experience

Heavy industrial equipment experience
